Stylized Low Poly Castle – 3D Environment Study
This project is a stylized 3D interpretation of a castle, originally based on concept artwork by Johannes Figlhuber and Dominik Gröstlinger from Airborn Studios (https://airbornstudios.artstation.com/projects/LbzOl?album_id=59971), created for the game Albion Online by Sandbox Interactive.
I modeled the entire scene in Autodesk Maya, focusing on a clean low poly look that retains the strong visual language of the original concept. Texturing was done in Substance Painter, where I aimed to enhance the stylized aesthetic with hand-painted details and clear material separation. The final renders were created in Marmoset Toolbag to best showcase the lighting, colors, and overall mood of the piece.
This project served as a practice in translating 2D concept art into a stylized 3D environment, while maintaining artistic consistency and optimizing for real-time rendering.
